Today we had a family Christmas party with Spencer's mothers side of the family. We got dressed up, including Makayla, and took some Christmas pictures. Makayla's beautiful red velvet dress is from her great grandparents, Tu-tu and One-One. She is adorable.

The Miracle
At my 39 week appointment my Doctor decided to induce me that week, in 2 days! I had been having regular, intense contractions for a week but was not dilating and she was not as far down as she should be at that point in the pregnancy. My chances of having a cesarean section would only increase if I waited longer...so there was no point to wait any longer...lets get this party started!
On Wednesday, October 28th at 6 a.m Spencer and I went into Labor and Delivery. I was started
on petocin at 7:00 and my already intense contractions got even more intense. I had told the nurse when I first got there that I wanted to get my epidural as soon as I was able to...so I got it as soon as I was too uncomfortable which was only at around 9 or 10. Having that done was probably the scariest part of the labor but so worth it! I couldnt feel a thing and just chilled out in my sweet room with a beautiful view!
By 7 p.m I was fully dilated and pushing. I was given a second dose for my epidural and now I really couldnt feel a thing! I felt as if I had no legs or lower body! Spence had been holding one of my legs and had let go between a contraction and all of a sudden I saw my leg fall off the bed!!! I screamed and Spence and the nurse both thought something was seriously wrong or hurting me until I yelled, "my leg! its gone!" They both laughed at me and picked my leg up for me. That was so freaky seeing my leg fall to the side and not be able to feel it. ....OK....so after 50 minutes of pushing and she was not coming down I went in for a c-section. I was not scared for this, I had mentally prepared myself for it, I even expected it so I wasnt surprised. Both our moms had arrived at the hospital at this point and it was comforting to hear
words of comfort and encouragement from them both since they had both had c-sections before. With a few I love you's and hugs from everyone I was off to the Operating Room with Spence by my side, dressed in his sterile "snow suit".
They got me all prepped and traded my epidural for a spinal block. Before I knew it they were starting and I thats when I started to freak out! I could feel my insides being moved around and lots of pressure but no pain...but then I got a sharp pain in my left side and now not only was I freaking out I was hysterical! I started to yell and cry...the doctors then said "Put her out!"....that was the last thing I remember...then I woke up in my room.
Spence never left my side, except when they took our baby to the nursery to get checked out while I got put back together. When I woke up he was there by my side holding our precious little girl. She was so beautiful and peaceful looking. With what little energy and voice that I had, I mumbled to Spence, "Her name is Makayla."

All was well with Makayla but I had lost a lot of blood and was very weak. After a blood transfusion I started to feel better but still had a rough recovery ahead of me. After 4 days in the hospital we got to go home. I was blessed to have a wonderful husband and parents to help me. It was a long, rough 9 months and a scary delivery but it was all worth it!

NEWS FLASH
OK so I never write on here because it's the furthest this from my mind. You all are so inspiring and it makes me want to try now.
It will be two years this month that Spence and I got married and we are delighted to be expecting our first little girl coming early this November! It has been a really rough pregnancy for me, throwing up constantly and getting every horrible symptom of pregnancy there is! But finally it has become more enjoyable as I can now feel her dancing around and doing flying dutchmens (they startle me) in my beautiful belly. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures to share but I will try to find one (I have been avoiding documenting my growing belly).
I have also been enjoying making burp cloths, blankets, and fancy wipe clutches for gifts and for myself. I have such an awesome sewing machine! It does all kinds of sweet stitches that add extra flair!

Wyoming or BUST!!
For a mini vacation right after school got out we headed up to Cody, Wyoming to see One-one and Tu-tu, Bonnie's Grandparents. We drove a gruelling 9 hours through the unexpected non-stop snow through the trecherous Wyoming mountians and flat lands. BUT we made it safe and it was all worth the trip! We had so much fun dining out with One-one, Tu-tu and Sharie and visiting with them. We took a world record fast tour of the famous Buffallo Bill Historical Center and showed off Cody to Spencer. One-one was even nice enough to let Spencer take out his vintage scooter for a ride, unfortunatly it was dead and we could not get it to run, but it was still cool! We also came just in time to see Aunt Sharie's new baby horse born just a few days before! She was a beauty!!! Although our visit was short we had a blast and enjoyed the ride back home without the snow and enjoy the scenery a little more (such as the breath taking Red Canyon). So we got to see tons of deer, antelope, hawks, eagles and even a wolf!!!!

What's new...

We are coming up on 6 months of marriage this month (February) and we are loving it! We had a gorgeous wedding in August in California. A fantastic honeymoon in Florida with dolphins and a gorgeous luxurious condo right on the beach!
We currently live in Springville, Utah in a cute duplex. Spencer is working now for a Professor at BYU making cool things and going to school full-time studying manufacturing engineering. Bonnie is working full-time at Heritage School which is a Residential Treatment Center for at-risk youth.
Our first Christmas together we went to California at Bonnie's parents. It was a wonderful Christmas! We went to Disneyland Christmas Eve (Spencer’s first time ever!). It was so magical! The fireworks, the castle lit up, and the snow falling was the most special moment!
During that week in California we went to more malls than Spencer ever imagined was possible! We visited Angie at Tiffany's & Co. and were in awe of all the precious jewelry. While down visiting Angie we saw her place on Balboa Island and rode bikes down the beach where we had to take a ferry boat from the island to the peninsula. What a lucky girl to live in such a beautiful place!
More adventures to come...
